Watson Strand started as a family business of fine cabinet makers and restorers.
Since then, we have become a specialist valuation provider, offering a range of services nationwide.
Our ethos from the very beginning was to provide a personal and professional service and, as we have grown, we have retained that commitment. The majority of our work comes through personal referrals and through our expanding and loyal customer base.
We now have a network of specialist valuers, all of whom are highly experienced in their relevant fields, having worked in some of the major International auction houses and art industries.
We pride ourselves on providing a completely confidential service. Offering everything from the valuation of single items to complete contents valuations. We can arrange for items to be sold and, where necessary, cleared.
In addition we will provide all necessary valuations to your solicitor or insurance company as needed.
Our family tree.
Edward (Ted) completed his apprenticeship in 1910 as a fine cabinet maker continuing to become a Master craftsman. Don, taught by his father, became a highly respected restorer. Specialising in period furniture, he used tools and wood commensurate with the age of the piece.
Other members of the family, also followed in the family business becoming conservators of work on paper and ceramic restorers.
